Serbian oil monopoly NIS had the highest income of all Serbian companies in 2007, Belgrade's Ekonomist Media Group has announced.

Serbian oil monopoly NIS had the highest income of all Serbian companies in 2007, Belgrade's Ekonomist Media Group has announced. According to this, among other companies that made the top ten list were Telenor and Jugorosgas. NIS Serbia's most successful enterprise NIS had an income of RSD 252.8bn, a drop of two percent on the previous year, but still enough to keep it at number one spot. According to the Top 300 list published by Ekonomist, Serbian power corporation EPS was in second place, as in recent years, with income of RSD 120.6bn. Privately-owned Delta Holding came in third with RSD 120.2bn of income, which is 28 percent higher than in 2006. Telekom Srvija was in fourth place with an increase of 30.4 percent to RSD 84.5bn, and U.S. Steel Serbia was fifth with RSD 71.9bn earned. “The remaining five places are always reserved for newcomers—this year it was Telenor and Jugorosgas,” Economist stated. So-called conglomerates were ranked on a separate list, made up of companies that deal with different sectors and cannot be but into one category. The leaders in this segment were Delta Holding with a total income of EUR 1.5bn. When looking at statistics by sectors, the best business results were reported by companies in the energy sector. Their total income in 2007 was increased by 25.6 percent in relation to EUR 7.74bn in 2006.
