Serbia's foreign debt was up 15.4 percent in the first nine months of this year, compared to 2007. On September 30 it totaled EUR 2.5bn which, with the debt of the public sector amounted to approximately EUR 6.3 bn. Serbia's foreign debt EUR 20.5bn The private sector debt, which over the last year rose by 22.2 percent, reached some EUR 14.3bn, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS). According to the World Bank's foreign debt classification, Serbia is in the group of mid-indebted countries.
