According to today’s official exchange rate, 1 Euro is worth RSD 80.23, 0.19 up on yesterday, but without any intervention from the NBS. The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) did not participate yesterday in the work of the inter-bank currency markets where the dinar’s exchange rate is formed, as it felt that the market was stabilizing and that the rate was formed in direct trade between banks, without excessive fluctuations. Dinar exchange rate stabilizing According to Wednesday’s official rate, there were RSD 80.04 to the euro, which, says economist Goran Nikolic, is the first time since June that the rate has climbed above RSD 80. On Tuesday, the NBS sold EUR 10mn on the inter-bank currency market in order to ward off excessive exchange rate fluctuation, while on Monday it sold EUR 40mn.
