A majority of directors and owners of small and mid-sized companies don't know of the existence of state start-up loans. A study conducted by the Employers’ Union of Serbia shows that as many as 71 percent of directors and owners of small and mid-sized businesses have never heard of start-up loans, authorizations for which are granted by the State Agency for the Development of Small and Mid-Sized Businesses. Entrepreneurs unaware of start-up loans Of those that have heard of start-up loans, 66 percent came from Vojvodina, while only 3 percent came from the east of the country.
