The harvest of wheat has ended in Serbia and the total yield is expected to be 2.1 million tons. The average will be between 4.2 and 4.3 tons per hectare, Branislav Gulan of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry told Tanjug. Serbian farmers harvest 2.1mn tons of wheat There will be enough wheat to satisfy domestic needs and between 250,000 and 300,000 tons will be left for export, Gulan added. The quality of this year's yield is better than last year's by 15 percent, according to him. The Serbian market consumes 1.3 million tons of wheat, annually, 50,000 tons are used as cattle feed, more than 200,000 tons for production of seed and about 50,000 tons of wheat is "lost" during harvest.
