Drastic power cuts in Kosovo have cost the province's power company, KEK, general director his job, reports from Pristina said today. The Albanian language media say that the decision to sack Remzi Sahini was made by the KEK management board. Three days ago, Kosovo B power plant's Block B2 ceased production, and for the purpose of rationalization of the consumption of electricity, the company turned off the most powerful block in the plant. Now the Kosovo authorities accuse the KEK management of inefficiency while before the unilateral declaration of independence, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci accused KEK of "sabotaging the work and deliberately creating problems in energy supply".
